Lucia Mary Josephine (Sabatino) Emanuele, 93 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away from this life to be with our Lord on Sunday April 3, 2016 at Schoellkopf Health Care Facility. Born in Roseto, Valfortore, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michele and Lucia (Altieri) Sabatino.

Lucia was raised and educated in Italy. On November 4, 1943 she married Andrea Emanuele, and together with their daughter, Connie, they immigrated to Canada in 1951 and later to the United States in 1960, settling in Niagara Falls. Mr. Emanuele predeceased her in 1989. Lucia began working as a cook for various local restaurants. She later went on to work in the housekeeping department of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center until 1964. Lucia enjoyed gardening and baking Italian cookies for her family and friends. Above all, Lucia loved to spend time with her family.

Lucia is survived by her daughter Connie Taylor of Niagara Falls, NY, two grandchildren, Jo Ann (Christopher) Monroe and Jeanette (Craig) DeLalla; four great-grandchildren, Sydney, Delaney, Julian and Olivia. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins throughout the United States, Canada and Italy. She was also predeceased by her brother Dominic Sabatino and sister Concetta Sticca.

The family would like to express a sincere thank you to the staff of Schoellkopf Health Care Facility for the compassion and care given to Lucia.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 8th from 5 – 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on April 9th at 11:15 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph's Church 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
