Lucia (Baietti) Leardini, 91 of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Friday December 25, 2009 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in San Martino, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Agostino and Virginia (Cesari) Baietti. Lucia married Cesarino Leardini on April 6, 1942 in San Marino, Italy and came to the Niagara Falls area in 1956. Mr. Leardini predeceased her on February 16, 2007.
Lucia devoted her life to her family, especially her grandchildren. She took great pleasure in being a homemaker, and especially enjoyed gardening, cooking and knitting.

Mrs. Leardini is survived by her son, William (Judith) Leardini of Youngstown, NY, her daughter, Myriam (Thomas) Witkowski of Lewiston, NY, and was predeceased by a daughter, Franca (Dennis of Lewiston, NY) Tosetto. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, David (Christine) Tosetto, Jacqueline (Jon) DiBernardo, Christopher (Leslie) Leardini, Andrew (Kristen) Leardini, Matthew (Carrie) Leardini, Jennifer (Robert) Woods and Cynthia (David) Sanchez, eleven great-grandchildren, her special friend and neighbor, Megan Keogh, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by five sisters and three brothers.

Friends may call on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 MILITARY ROAD NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Tuesday December 29th at 8:45 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in Niagara University Alumni Chapel, Lewiston, NY, with Rev. John Maher C.M. officiating. Entombment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
