Obituary

Lucille R. (Zoda) Cicero, 74, of the Town of Niagara, NY passed away on Sunday March 21, 2010 at her residence while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Castiglia) Zoda.

Lucille was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1954. For over ten years, Lucille worked at the former Bell Aerospace in Wheatfield, NY. She later was employed as a data processing operations manager at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY and retired in 1999 after thirty years of service. In 1982 Lucille was recognized as Mt. St. Mary's Hospital 'Employee of the Year'. Lucille was a longtime member of St. Leo's Church in the Town of Niagara as well as their Altar and Rosary Society. Since 1981, she was also a member of the VFW #917 Ladies Auxiliary. Lucille loved going to the casino, playing Bingo and Poker. She also enjoyed visiting her children in Louisiana each year and attending Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans.

Lucille is survived by three children, Denise (William) Procaccini of Niagara Falls, NY; Anthony (Denine) Cicero of Kenner, LA and Paulette (Hal) Heller of Metairie, LA; four grandchildren, Lisa Procaccini, Jennifer Procaccini, Savanna Heller and Christopher Heller, one sister Rose Marie (late George) Curtis of Lewiston, NY; her dear friend and neighbor Sharon Cooper and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Santo (Rose of Hamburg, NY) Zoda, Salvatore (late Mary) Zoda, Joseph (Andrea of the Town of Niagara, NY) Zoda and Charles (Norma of Niagara Falls, NY) Zoda.

Friends may call on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday March 26th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
