Local Centenarian
Lucy B. (Vilardo) De Dario, age 100, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2018 at Schoellkopf Health Center. Born October 10, 1917 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late, Salvatore and Grace Vilardo. Lucy attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.
Lucy married Joseph F. De Dario on August 18, 1943 at Our Lady of Lebanon Church. He predeceased her on March 28, 1999 after 55 years of marriage. Lucy was a clerical worker at Carborundum Corporation, retiring in 1976. She loved to play bingo and slots at the casino. Her favorite things were cooking and baking for her family.
Lucy is survived by her children, William De Dario, Grace Ann (Ralph) Schupp, John (Liana) De Dario, Bernard (Mary) Di Paolo and was predeceased by a son, Joseph S. De Dario. She is also survived by 12 cherished grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, her brother and sister, Thomas (late Rosemary) Vilardo and Marie (late Louis) Felicitti, as well as several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.
The family will be present on Thursday May 3rd, 2018 at 9:30 am at M. J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY where prayers will be said at 10:15 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family of Jesus Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church at 11:00 am.
