Lucy M. Mastromatteo, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Carmela (Volpe) Mastromatteo.

Lucy was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. She worked full time in the Accounting Department of Union Carbide Corp. for thirty five years until the late 1980's. She then continued working part time in their Accounts Payable Department until retiring in 2002. Lucy enjoyed a variety of hobbies that included knitting, sewing and gardening. She used her talents by knitting hats for newborns which she donated to area hospitals and shawls and lap robes for area nursing homes. Lucy also made and donated afghans and squares for blankets to the Community Missions in Niagara Falls.

Lucy is survived by one sister Mary (late Ronald) DiBartolomeis of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one brother Guy 'Tom' (late Mary) Mastromatteo. Survivors also include her niece and nephew Carol (Lawrence) Placek and John (Nancy) Mastromatteo; her great nieces and great nephews Kristen (Matthew) Davis, Michael (Holly) Placek, Adam (Elizabeth) Mastromatteo and Natalie Mastromatteo; her great great nieces and nephew Gabriella , Emmalynn and Joseph Mastromatteo, Harper and Gia Placek as well as cousins.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, March 23rd at 12 Noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Duane R. Klizek officiating. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241 or the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish. Arrangements by M.J.
