Obituary
Lucy Napoleon, 96, of Youngstown, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12th, 2016 at her daughter's residence in Rochester, NY, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Serafino and Concetta (DiSclafani) Manuse.
Lucy attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On July 1, 1950 she married Vincent Napoleon, who predeceased her on April 3, 1998 after 47 beautiful years together. Lucy began working as a secretary at the former Woodward Insurance agency and later became the executive secretary at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in Niagara Falls, NY until her retirement in 1984.
Lucy was a devout Catholic and former member of the Madonna Del Soccorso Society. She enjoyed arts and crafts including water color painting, as well as Danish needle painting. She was also an avid quilter. Above all, Lucy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mrs. Napoleon is survived by her five children Dr. Mary Susan (late Jack Slattery) Napoleon, Mary Carol (Robert) Abbamonte, Donald (Justine) Napoleon, Brian Napoleon, Edward (Janet) Napoleon; eight grandchildren, Lee (Camille) Wheeler, John (Jessica) Wheeler, Michelle (Rob Slocum) Wheeler, Rachel Napoleon, Paul Napoleon, Rebecca Napoleon, Dominic Napoleon, Anthony Napoleon, and one great-grandson Gavin Slocum. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Lucy was predeceased by her siblings Serafino (late Rose) Manuse,Jr., Joseph (late Anne) Manuse, Constantine "Connie" (Mary) Manuse, Christine (late Sam) Rizzuto and Gary Manuse.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 14th from 2 - 4 & 6 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:30 A.M. at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Empower of WNY, 9812 Lockport Rd, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
