Devoted Mother and Grandmother
Madelon Laughlin, 73, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Donald E. and Pearl R. (Edyt) Lilly.
Madelon was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and graduated from the former LaSalle High School in 1960. On February 23, 1963, she married William J. Laughlin, who predeceased her on October 25, 2001 after 38 beautiful years together. Madelon was a member of the Salvation Army and the domestic engineer of her loving family. She enjoyed yardwork, as well as tending to her garden. She also enjoyed skiing, bowling and golfing. Above all, Madelon greatest pleasure was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Laughlin is survived by her six children John Laughlin, Kim Arnold, Karen (John) Abel, Kelly Laughlin, Kathleen Laughlin and Kerri Laughlin all of Niagara Falls, NY; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and four siblings Gail (Gerald) Trunzo, Donald Lilly, Barbara (Douglas) Crocker and Colleen (Ronald) Batley. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Harriet Laughlin, sister-in-law Jane Siever both of Niagara Falls, NY, brother-in-law Russell (Vernonia) Laughlin of Port Charlotte, FL and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 11th from 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Tuesday, January 12th at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY.
