Obituary

Malcolm F. Piercey, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late Malcolm and Anna Marie (Kirkman) Piercey.

Malcolm graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School and married his childhood sweetheart, Katherine Piercey on December 29, 1945. Malcolm enlisted in the United States Navy in 1947 and was stationed in Glenview, Illinois until his honorable discharge in 1957. Shortly after his discharge, Malcolm enlisted into the United States Air Force and served for over 12 years in Japan and Texas prior to retiring as a Master Sargent in 1969.

Malcolm and Katherine moved to Washington following his discharge from Air Force and later moved back to Niagara Falls in 1987. They felt very fortunate enough to have met so many people and see some many beautiful places while traveling throughout the world. After 72 loving years, Mrs. Piercey passed away on May 2, 2017 after 72 loving years together.

Mr. Piercey enjoyed collecting stamps, researching genealogy and playing the trombone. Him and his wife were also very active with Salvation Army Church of Niagara Falls.

Malcolm is survived by his four sisters, Ruth (late Thomas) Quinn, Helen (late Americis) Peterson, Betty (late Fred) Fribert, Doris (late Thomas) Maloney, and was predeceased by one brother, Benjamin Piercey. He is also survived by his niece, Jill (George) White and nephew, Thomas Quinn, as well as many other dear nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Brookdale Assisted Living and Niagara Hospice House for the outstanding care and compassion given to Malcolm.

Private funeral services and interment in Memorial Park Cemetery with Military Honors will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial offerings may be made to the Salvation Army, 7018 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
