Marcelle 'Mott' Iodice, 98, of Niagara Falls, NY went peacefully to the Lord at Our Lady of Peace Health Care Facility on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. She was born on September 6, 1923 in Henderson, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Ernest and May (Grayson) Woodard.

She met Leo Iodice, the love of her life, while Leo was stationed with the US Army in Kentucky.  After their wedding on November 26, 1943, they came to Niagara Falls and shared more than 50 years together. She loved to dance and was a mean jitterbug partner. Some of her happiest days were enjoying fun times together with her family and friends at Niagara Woodland campground. She also loved to walk downtown and shop on Pine Ave (even into her 80's).

Marcelle was a devoted mother and homemaker. Even though she wasn't Italian, she made the best homemade pasta, gnocchi and ravioli.  Her meatballs and sauce were the best in town. She was always quick to give her mother-in-law credit for teaching her how to cook. She was an awesome baker, too.  Christmas Eve will never be the same without her chocolate cream and banana cream pies. Her granddaughters are still trying to replicate her many delicious cookie recipes. She loved to knit and crochet and share all her masterpieces with family and friends. We will always especially cherish the crocheted angel and snowflake Christmas tree ornaments she made for all our trees.

She was a devout Catholic and a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.  Since she lived around the corner she like to say, "I can see my church through my kitchen window."  She was also an active member of the Mt. Carmel Home School during her childrens' school years.

She is survived by her two sons Michael (Carole Bartko Iodice) and David (Kathy Hayes Iodice) all of Niagara Falls. Marcelle is also survived by her four granddaughters, Michelle (Tom) Seider, Denise (Scott) Perry, Merrie Carole (Frank) Strangio and Kellie (Jesse) Imes. She was "GG" to nine great grandchildren Marissa Seider, Julia Seider, Michael Seider, Madison Perry, Mikayla Perry, Anthony Strangio, Alyssa Strangio, Liliana Imes and Jack Imes.   She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Iodice, two cherished grandsons, Gregory and Nicholas Iodice; her sister Dorothy (late Robert) Erickson and step brother, Ernest "Leo" Woodard.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21 from 9:30 – 11:15 AM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 11:15 followed by Marcelle's Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27 ^th and Independence Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.  Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Association, Muscular Dystrophy or Multiple Sclerosis would be appreciated.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
