Marcia (Swiderski) Mays, 86, entered into rest at Odd Fellows and Rebekah Nursing Facility in Lockport, NY on Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Mrs. Mays was born on December 26, 1923 in Niagara Falls, NY the daughter of the late Martin and Veronica (Opalinski) Swiderski.

Marcia was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from St. Mary's High School in Niagara Falls. She married William L. Mays on February 2, 1947 and was predeceased by him on March 9, 1991. Mrs. Mays worked at St. John de LaSalle Rectory for over twenty three years until her retirement. She was a member of St. John de LaSalle parish as well as their Altar and Rosary Society and Martha's Bereavement Group. Marcia enjoyed music, especially Frank Sinatra, dancing and watching classic movies.

Mrs. Mays is survived by four children John (Bonnie) Neiman of Grand Junction, MI; Susan (Bill) Isaacs of Lewiston, NY; Pamela (Donald) Mays DeCain of Longmeadow, MA and Mark (Lori) Mays of Grand Island, NY; Six grandchildren Laurie Neiman, Kelly Neiman, Shelley Isaacs, Cameron DeCain, Michelle (Matt) Sanborn and Amanda Mays. Two great grandchildren. One sister Dorothy (late Frank) Strangis of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by an infant son Dennis Mays and three sisters Helen (late Jack) Zolcinski, Julia (late Joseph) Tubinis and Josephine Swiderski.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Everyone is invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday October 30th at 11:30 a.m. at St. John de LaSalle Church, 8469 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Slawomir Siok, SAC officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
