Mareta Bovanizer-Jamieson, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Saturday May 7, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born at Six Nation Indian Reserve in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada she was the daughter of the late John E. and Ida M. (Davy) Green.

Mareta resided at the Six Nations Indian Reserve and came to Niagara Falls in her early 20's. Mareta was a housemother to her family and she especially enjoyed enjoyed cooking, baking and sewing for them. In her leisure time she liked to complete crossword puzzles, watch old movies on TV and play cards.

Mareta was predeceased by her husband Theodore S. Jamieson and later by her husband Rodney H. Bovanizer. She is survived by eight children John E. Jamieson of Niagara Falls, NY; Joanne Bovanizer of New York, NY; Janice Bovanizer of Niagara Falls, NY; Howard Bovanizer of Ft. Scott, KS; Janet (Thomas) Neubauer, Mareta Bovanizer, Rod D. Bovanizer, Kenneth J. (Melissa) Bovanizer all of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one daughter Marla Jamieson-Fadel and one son Jeffrey Stanley Jamieson. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren twelve great grandchildren, one sister Loretta (Norman) Saito of Brantford, Ontario, Canada and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two sisters and one brother Leona (late Joseph) Williams, Rosaline (Tillman) Harris and one brother Ernie (Sally) Crow.

Visitation will be on Wednesday May 11th from 3 – 5 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468 19TH STREET, NIAGARA FALLS, NY followed by a funeral service at 5 p.m. with Pastor Walter Printup officiating. Private burial services will be held in Oakwood Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY at the convenience of the family.
