Margaret M. Certo, 94, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on Sunday, January 16, 2022 in the care of Niagara Hospice.

Margaret was born on January 21, 1927 in Niagara Falls, New York to the late Luigi and Francesca (Domanico) Curcione.  She met the love of her life, Russell, while working at Figlers.  Russell picked Margaret up on his bicycle and they went on their first date.  It was at that moment when they fell in love.  On April 26, 1947, she married her handsome husband, Russell J. Certo, Sr.

Margaret graduated from Trott Vocational High School.  She enjoyed bowling, playing cards and was known for spending time in the kitchen and for her delectable cooking, especially homemade gnocchi.  She enjoyed traveling out west with her husband every year.  She cherished time spent with her family and was a proud grandmother to her devoted grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Debra (Joseph) LaScala, loving grandchildren, Joe LaScala and Kathryn LaScala.  She was predeceased by her wonderful son, Russell J. Certo, Jr.  She was also predeceased by her brothers, Arthur V. (late Frances) Curcione, Yolanda Curcione, Lena (late Frank) Coney, Stella Curcione, Fred (late Esther) Curcione and Americo (late Carmella) Curcione.  She was also a caring aunt to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A very special thank you to the family's dear friend, Janet Ligammari, Director of Niagara Hospice for her loving and tender care.  The family is forever grateful.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 21 from 10 – 12 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will be held at 12 PM.  Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.  The family would like to thank Niagara Hospice House for the wonderful and compassionate care.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Niagara Hospice House or the Multiple Sclerosis Association.  Visit mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online condolences.
