Margaret “Peggy” Kelly, 87, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry S. and Helen (Horst) Conway.
Peggy was a proud graduate of Niagara Falls High School and began her working life at Manpower and the Carborundum Company at a young age. On August 2, 1958, she married the love of her life, Daniel J. Kelly, with whom she shared a devoted and joyful marriage for 60 years. Together, they owned and operated Kelly’s Korner on Cayuga Drive for over 17 years, becoming a familiar and welcoming presence in the community.
Peggy and Dan loved to travel, creating countless memories together throughout the years. They were also longtime members of the Niagara Falls Elks Lodge #346, where Peggy made history as the lodge’s first female Exalted Ruler in 2002, an honor she carried with pride.
Peggy was an avid Bingo player and also enjoyed playing farkle, dominos, and any card games with friends and family. She was an exceptional cook and baker, especially known for her beloved chocolate chip cookies and her famous cream puffs. Peggy cherished time spent with her longtime friends, whether during her monthly “breakfast club” or other social gatherings that included friendships spanning a lifetime.
Above all, Peggy treasured her family. Time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren brought her immeasurable joy, and her gentle presence, warm heart, and steady love will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband, Daniel who passed away in 2018, she was sadly predeceased by her daughter, Vicki Janese in 2021. Peggy is survived by her four children, Lisa (Dave) Tighe, Lori (Tom) Galbo, Tracy (Warren) Gilmore and Kristi (Brian) Short; eleven cherished grandchildren: Daniel (Melissa) Tighe, Ryan (Lauren) Tighe, Taylor Janese, Patrick (Julie) Tighe, David (Cori) Tighe, Thomas (Nadine) Galbo, Connor Gilmore, Dylan Galbo, Jordan Short, Mckenzie Gilmore, and Paige (fiancé Dylan) Short; twelve beloved great‑grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Peggy was also predeceased by two sisters, Betty Guadagno and Nancy DeMonico.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 20 from 1 – 6 PM at M.J. Colucci & Son Niagara Funeral Chapel, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where Peggy’s funeral services will be held on Monday, September 21 at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dan and Peggy Kelly Family Foundation, PO Box 149 Niagara Falls, NY 14304 or the Niagara Falls Elks Lodge #346, 7710 Buffalo Avenue Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
