Margaret (Gladish) Riggi, 91, of North Gate Manor, previously of Alterra Assisted Living both in Wheatfield, NY, has sadly passed away in peace to be with Our Lord on Friday August 28, 2009. She was born in Arcadia, PA to her late parents Michael and AnnaMae (Soltis) Gladish.
Margaret moved to Niagara Falls as a teenager, where she met and married Michael Riggi, who predeceased her on January 2nd, 2006. They were married sixty two years. Margaret attended local schools in Niagara Falls and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. She and her husband and children later moved to Amherst, NY where they built and operated their family business the Blue Dolphin Motel and Green Haven Restaurant on Niagara Falls Boulevard. Following her retirement, Margaret enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, watching all her favorite movies and listening to country music.
Margaret loved her family. She has three daughters, Rose M. (Armand) Valeri, Margaret "Peggy" (Ronald) Borczynski both of Wheatfield, NY and Anna Mae (Marvin) Teitelbaum of Las Vegas, NV; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Margaret was also predeceased by one sister Mary (late Frank) Galbo, her twin brother Joseph (late Mildred) Gladish, and a brother Michael Gladish.
Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY RD. NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Tuesday September 1st at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. James Fugle officiating. Entombment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of WNY 2805 Wehrle Dr. STE. 6 Williamsville, NY 14221 or the American Cancer Society 101 John J. Audubon Parkway, Amherst, NY 14228.
