Margaret M. (Certo) Serianni, 95, of Lewiston, NY passed away on Tuesday December 15, 2009 at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo NY. Born in Florence, PA she was the daughter of the late Peter and Catherine (Antonucci) Certo.

Margaret came to Niagara Falls, NY as a child with her family. She attended local schools including St. Joseph's Elementary School, St. Mary's High School and Kelly Business Institute. On December 1, 1945 she married Frank A. Serianni at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Serianni predeceased her on September 19, 1976. She later married Palmer Serianni on June 21, 1980 and was predeceased by him on February 22, 1998. During World War II Margaret worked at Bell Aircraft in Wheatfield. She later worked at the former Kay's Dress Shop, her family's business Certo Brothers Distributing Co. and most recent Jenss Department Store in the Summit Park Mall where she worked until the store's closing. Margaret was a member of the St. Joseph's Sodality and Mother's Club, as well as a dedicated volunteer for the Niagara County Cerebral Palsy Association. She also enjoyed knitting, baking, cooking and in her younger years she liked golfing and horseback riding. Margaret's greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Serianni is survived by her three daughters, Celestine (David) Pawlowski of Youngstown, NY; Catherine Serianni of Lewiston, NY and Mary Ann (Thomas) Beaver of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Venditti, Frank (Mandi) Beaver, Brian Beaver, Joshua (Elizabeth) Pawlowski and Zachary Pawlowski; two great-grandchildren, Gianna Nicole Venditti and Owen Chase Pawlowski; two sisters, Elizabeth (Bob) Pfleger of Niagara Falls, NY and Mary Rolle of Lewiston, NY; one brother Hon. Anthony J. (Rita) Certo of Port St. Lucie, FL and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Candelor J. 'Ken' (Katie of Lewiston, NY) Certo, Albert J. (Josephine of Niagara Falls, NY) Certo, Andrea Henry 'Hank' (Natalie of Niagara Falls, NY) Certo and Joseph Certo. Margaret's family would like to express a special thank you to her caregiver, Wendy Williams, Dr. Samuel Sirianni and Dr. Frank Laurri.

Friends may call on Friday from 3 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday December 19th at 12 noon at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY with Rev. Sebastian Pierro officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will be held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
