Maria G. (D'Attilo) Aguglia, 76, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Tuesday April 26, 2011 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst, NY. Born in Termini Imerese, Sicily, Italy she was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Carmela (Sperlazza) D'Attilo.
Maria was educated in Italy and married Angelo Aguglia on October 22, 1960 in Italy. In 1969 she and her husband immigrated to the United States and settled in Niagara Falls, NY where she lived until the present time. Maria was a talented seamstress and worked at Tattler's Lane Bridal Shop in Niagara Falls until retiring in 2010 after twenty years of service. She also enjoyed making clothing and draperies as well. Maria was an excellent cook and particularly liked baking bread and making homemade pasta. Most importantly, her life centered on the care and well being of her family.
In addition to her husband of fifty-years, Maria is survived by three children Anna Aguglia, Louis (Jacki) Aguglia both of Niagara Falls, NY and Tricia (Sam) Azra of Mandeville, LA; six grandchildren Sammy Torcasio, Vinny Torcasio, Louie Aguglia, Ashlie Torcasio, Nicholas Azra and Zachary Azra and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one sister and two brothers in Italy.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday April 29th at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY.
