Maria 'Mariposa' Posa, 94, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on February 12, 2021 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Cheektowaga, NY.  Born in Amantea, Province of Cosenza, Calabria, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Carolina Munno.

Maria attended schools in Italy.  On November 6, 1947, she married Anthony E. Posa in Amantea, Italy.  Mr. Posa predeceased her on July 22, 2010.  Maria owned and operated Mariposa's Submarine Shop in the Town of Niagara for over 60 years.  Maria loved to work and was an excellent cook.  Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Maria is survived by her children, Marina (late Robert) Vickers, Marisa (Joseph) Scalzo, Rinaldo Posa, Michelle Thomas, Pina (Gus) Campbell, Ramo (Heidi) Posa, Rome Posa, and Robert Posa; her 27 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband of 62 years, she was predeceased by her son, Victor Posa, and her siblings, Ann (late Rocco) Ruggiero, Ida (Alex) Viola, Vincent (late Maria) Munno, Nat (late Linda) Munno, and Anthony (Carmen) Munno.

Many thanks to her loyal customers throughout her 60 years of business.  We have been blessed to know that there are so many people who loved our mother.  Our sincerest thank you from the Posa family.
