Marianne Laratta, 96, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday April 30, 2013. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Raphaela (Paonessa) Laratta.

Marianne was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. In her early years Marianne worked in the hardware department of the former Newberry's in Niagara Falls. She later worked at Moore Business Forms, and afterwards in the Dietary Department of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for eighteen years until she retired in the late 1980's. For over twenty years she also served as a volunteer at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Marianne was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls, and a member of the Red Hat Society. She was also an avid reader, enjoyed cross word puzzles, and a devoted New York Yankee.

Marianne is survived by her nieces and nephews, Irene (late Lou) Luchetti, Joanne (William) Boudreau, Patricia (Ted) Sosnowski, Dr. Joseph (Joan) Gerbasi, Ross (late Joyce) Gerbasi and Robert (Val) Gerbasi as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. She was also predeceased by four sisters, Mildred (late Aloysius) Knoll, Susan (late Patrick) Pendancio, Rose (late Philip) Felicetti, Mary E. (late Patrick) Gerbasi and one brother Samuel (late Anne) Laratta.

Visitation will be held on Saturday May 4th from 9:00 a.m. until 11:15 a.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin at 11:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Stewart Lindsay, O.S.F.S.officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings in memory of Marianne may be made to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Foundation/Volunteer Department 621 10th Street Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
