Marianne Palmisano, 82, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at her home. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the beloved daughter of Samuel and Helen (Pospieszny) Costanzo.

Marianne was raised in Niagara Falls and graduated from the former LaSalle Senior High School. She went on to earn both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Niagara University. Early in her career, she taught German, later becoming a substitute teacher throughout Niagara County, including the Lewiston‑Porter and Niagara‑Wheatfield school districts.

While attending Niagara University, Marianne minored in film, nurturing a lifelong appreciation for the artistry and detail behind movies and television. She especially loved Westerns and held a keen interest in actors and the craft of performance. She also enjoyed reading, bird watching, and the simple, peaceful routines that brought her joy.

Known for her beauty, grace, and unwavering inner strength, Marianne carried herself with a gentle dignity. She kept to herself, focusing her heart and energy on those who mattered most. Her love for her family was steadfast and unyielding, and she devoted her life to their needs with immeasurable devotion and care.

Marianne is survived by her brothers, Sam (Sylvia) Costanzo and Fred Costanzo; her loving friends and caretakers, Sherri Smith and Mark Deyo along with their children and grandchildren who she was honorary beloved grandma to. She is also survived by several nieces, great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was sadly predeceased by her cherished daughter, Cathleen Healey; her first husband, Philip Palmisano and her second husband, Kenneth "Gary" Bartoo.

Private funeral services will be held with interment to follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Niagara Falls, NY for her family. Memorial contributions in Marianne’s name may be made to Niagara Hospice at niagarahospice.org.
