Marie A. Basso, 70, of Niagara Falls, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at her residence.  Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Jane M. (Kollmar) Meyers.

Marie attended schools in Buffalo, and was a 1967 graduate of Kensington High School.  On July 4, 1992, she married Mario J. Basso at Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls.

Marie was employed as a machine operator as Sherwood-Harsco Corporation in Lockport, NY.  She was a 20-year member of the Wilson Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  In addition, she enjoyed bowling in various leagues, reading, playing bingo and swimming in younger years.

In addition to her husband, Marie is survived by her children, Jeanne Miller, Scott (Jackie) Benton, Brian (Erika) Benton, Joseph (Colleen) Basso, Robert Basso, and Lisa (Robert) Smith; fourteen grandchildren, Justine, Jessica, Josie, Jamie Lea, Lindsay, Shelby, Lauren, Joseph, Anthony, Nickolas, Heather, Gabrielle, Stewert and Abram; eight great-grandchildren, Alexxa, Kyler, Sophia, Mercedes, Gianna, Frankie, Leighland and Avaya; her brothers, John W. (Amy) Meyers and James A. Meyers, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 30 ^th from 4 – 8 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday at 11 A.M. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
