Marie R. Kachurek, 94, of Niagara Falls, New York, entered eternal life on October 22, 2022 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, New York.  Born and raised in Manchester, England, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Rose (Whitaker) Morris.

Marie attended school in England and immigrated to the United States in 1953 with her sister. In 1957, she married Michael Kachurek, who predeceased her in 1975 after 18 years of marriage.  Marie was employed as a teacher's aide with the Niagara County Head Start Preschool Program in Niagara Falls until her retirement in 1990.

Marie loved being with her family and friends, especially her cherished granddaughters.  She also enjoyed knitting and was a member of the knitting group at the John Duke Senior Center for several years.  Marie enjoyed watching Turner Classic movies and had an unmatched knowledge of classic movies and movie stars.  Marie enjoyed good food, chocolate, English toffee and Red Rose tea. She will be lovingly remembered for her sense of humor, quick wit and charming British accent.

Marie is survived by her sons, Michael J. (Diana) Kachurek, retired N.F.P.D. Captain, Les P. (Kathleen) Kachurek, retired N.F.P.D. Captain; her granddaughters, Caitlin (Jeremy) Sykes and Sara; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in the United States and England.  In addition to her husband and parents, Marie was predeceased by her siblings, John (late Joan) Morris, Raymond Morris, Leslie Morris and Wyn Cummings.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 27th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish at Mt. Carmel Church, 27th St. at Independence Ave, Niagara Falls, N.Y. 14301, where Marie's Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, N.Y.
