Marilyn Jane Salfi, 95, of Lewiston, NY, passed away at her residence on December 12, 2021 surrounded by her loving family while under the care of Niagara Hospice.  Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mabel (Jagoda) Szczerbacki.

Marilyn was a 1944 graduate of Niagara Falls High School.  On June 21, 1947, she married Thomas D. Salfi at Our Lady of Lebanon Church.  Mr. Salfi predeceased her on August 14, 2017 after 70 years of marriage.  Marilyn was employed as a Sales Clerk at Jenss Department Store on Main Street in Niagara Falls during the 1970s and 1980s.  She was a member of the Mt. Carmel Mother's Club, the Bishop Duffy PTA, and the St. Francis Guild, where she took photographs of newborn babies.  Marilyn loved cooking and baking for her family.  She especially enjoyed following her grandchildren's sporting endeavors and attending their sporting events.

Marilyn is survived by her children, Thomas F. (Maureen) Salfi, Carol A. (Martin J.) Palumbo, and Cynthia J. (Paul A.) Richardson; her grandchildren, Jason S. (Kadie) Salfi, Brenna (Christopher) Salfi DeSimone, Justin M. (Sarah) Palumbo, Alex T. (Jolanne) Palumbo, Nicholas C. Richardson, Meghan J. Richardson, and Sean P. Richardson; her great grandchildren, Lucia Georgette, Antonella, Aurelio, Ireland, Dominic, and Waylon, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Robert K. (Suzanne) Salfi, her grandson, Matthew J. Salfi, and her siblings, Thomas (late Catherine) Szczerbacki, Irene 'Dolly' (late Walt) Shafer, and James (late Dolores) Szczerbacki.

Marilyn's Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 17 at 10:30 AM at St. Bernard's Church, 218 Hinman Street, Youngstown, NY 14174.  Private interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14174, Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, P.O.
