Mario Fiorita, 84, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Born in Spezzano, Sila, Province of Cosenza, Italy he was the son of the late Biagio and Rosaria (Scarpelli) Fiorita.

Mario was educated in Italy and immigrated to the United States in 1949, where he settled in Niagara Falls, NY. On August 28, 1966 he married Franca (Scarnati) Fiorita in Spezzano, Sila, Italy. Mario was a skilled tailor for over fifty years. He owned and operated Mario's Tailor Shop and also worked at various clothing stores throughout the city. He was a former member of the Cristoforo Colombo Society and enjoyed playing bocce in the Hyde Park Leagues. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of forty nine years, Mario is survived by three children Biagio 'Bill' Fiorita of Sanborn, NY, Anthony 'Nino' Fiorita of the Town of Niagara, NY and Maria Fiorita of Delray Beach, FL; ten grandchildren Biagio 'Billy' Fiorita, Ryan Fiorita, Brianna Fiorita, Mario Fiorita, Jimmy Fiorita, Anthony Fiorita, Jenica Fiorita, Michael Fiorita, Jack Fiorita and Jason Scarduelli; one great granddaughter Marella; one brother Anthony (late Alberta) Fiorita of Seattle, WA; two sisters Assunta (late Giuseppe) of Inbrogno, FL and Giulia (late Frank) Forgione of Niagara Falls, NY and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother Frank (Anna of Niagara Falls, NY) Fiorita.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 24th from 2 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday, January 25th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent De Paul at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
