Mario J. "Lefty" Colosi, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY died peacefully on Monday June 14, 2010. Born in Anita, PA he was the son of the late Anthony and Rosemarie (Previte) Colosi.

Mario came to Niagara Falls as a child with his family and attended local schools. During World War II he served in the United States Army as a Medic from February 10, 1943 until his honorable discharge on November 13, 1945 and was stationed in the European Theater including Africa and Germany. On October 26, 1946 he married Mary (Scarfone) Colosi at Niagara Falls, NY. Mario was employed at the freight house of the New York Central Railroad. For thirty years he was a member of the Lathers Local in Niagara Falls, NY where he also served as their president and business agent. At the time of his retirement he was a carpenter and member of the Carpenters Local #289. "Lefty" as he was known to his friends and family enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

In addition to his wife of sixty three years, Mario is survived by one son Anthony C. (Rene M.) Colosi of Niagara Falls, NY; two grandchildren Jennifer (Bruce) Avery and Nicolas "Nico" A. Colosi, one great granddaughter London Avery, one sister Nancy J. Colosi of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three sisters Tomasina (late Charles) DeMarco, Mary (late Louis) Whitebread, Ann (late James) DeBiase and three brothers Russell (Freda of Marietta, OH) Colosi, Larry (Jennie Colosi Scavulli of Rochester NY) Colosi and infant Larry Colosi.

Visitation will be on Thursday June 17th from 4 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY followed by funeral services at 7 p.m.
