Mario "Ginger" Licastro of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.  Born on November 7, 1935 in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. He was the son of the late Gaetano and Angeline (Cirrito) Licastro.

Ginger as he was affectionately known by family and friends attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1955. He served with the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged on November 29, 1962.  On September 14, 1963 he married  Lorraine Dalla Torre in Our Lady of Lebanon Church and recently celebrated fifty-five years of marriage. Mr. Licastro worked for the city of Niagara Falls for thirty-five years  and retired as an Operation Foreman  in 1991. Following his retirement, he continued to work for the City of Niagara Falls Golf Course.

Ginger enjoyed golfing, attending the fitness center and meeting with the guys for coffee at Augie's Diner and Knack's Parkview Café.   Above all, his love was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Ginger is survived by his children, Michael (Lisa) Licastro and Valerie (Joseph) Rosati; grandfather of Troy and Tyler Licastro and Gianna Rosati; brother of Grace (Late Michael) Greenawalt and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Licastro was predeceased by his two sisters and brother, Kathleen (late Robert) Stancomb, Frances Snyder and Joseph (Barbara of Niagara Falls) Licastro.

Visitation will begin on Monday, January 7 ^th from 3 – 7 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY.  Mario's Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace Church 1055 North Military Road Niagara Falls.
