Marjory G. (Hunter) Carlson, 80, of the Town of Niagara, NY passed away on Sunday December 28, 2008 at her residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Carl and Grace (Williams) Hunter.

Marjory was raised and educated in Niagara Falls Ontario, Canada. On June 19, 1948 she married John A. Carlson in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and moved to the Niagara Falls, NY area where she currently resided. Mr. Carlson predeceased her on April 8, 2008. From 1973 until her retirement in 1981, Marjory was employed as a manager of the ladies sportswear department of the former Beir's Department Store and later the former Hens and Kelly Department Store both in Niagara Falls, NY. Marjory was a former member of the LaSalle Yacht Club in Niagara Falls. For over twenty years, she served as a volunteer at the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Gift Shop, and for many years was a charter member of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center Legacy Foundation. In her leisure time, Marjory also enjoyed doing crafts.

Mrs. Carlson is survived by two daughters Deborah L. (Richard) Hansen of Niagara Falls, NY and Adele C. (David) Shipston of Williamsville, NY; seven grandchildren; Christina (Danny) Kismore of West Virginia, Janice (Michael) Moceri, Julie (Ricky) Kephart both of Niagara Falls, NY; Brad Shipston of Tonawanda, NY; Karen Shipston of Saratoga Springs, NY; Brenda (Matthew) Yorio and Brian Hansen, as well as many dear lifelong friends.

Friends may call on Friday from 2 – 4 and 7 -9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will be held on Saturday January 3rd at 11 a.m. with Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch officiating. Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to the N.F. Memorial Medical Heart Center, 621 Tenth Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
