Mark E. Wellar, 54, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Sunday August 7, 2011 at Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of Mary (O'Donnell) Wellar of Niagara Falls, NY and the late Donald Wellar.


Mark was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. He attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. He then attended Erie County Community College and the State University College at Buffalo where he earned a Bachelor's Degree. Mark was employed as a technician and then an engineer for twenty five years at Unifrax, formerly known as the Carborundum Company, in Niagara Falls. His favorite pastimes were golfing, bowling and working on cars. Mark was also devoted to his nieces and took great pleasure spending time with them.


In addition to his mother, Mark is survived by two sisters Brenda Wellar of Niagara Falls, NY and Sandra (Richard) Lutz of Tonawanda, NY; one brother Donald (Sue) Wellar of Wilson, NY; his beloved nieces Cassandra Lutz, Alexandria Lutz and Hannah Lutz, one nephew Garrett Wellar, a niece Amy Hass and several cousins.


Visitation will be on Friday August 12th from 4 – 7 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY concluding with a funeral service at 7 p.m. with Rev.
