Marta Ana Tartaglione Mango, 79 of Syracuse, NY passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016. Marta was originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina where she graduated from embroidery school. She worked several years as an embroiderer until getting married in 1960.
She volunteered for several years as a teacher's aide in Spanish class at Huntington Elementary School in Syracuse, NY. She was known as "Momma Mango" by her son's friends for her love of cooking and baking. Her favorite pastime was baking Christmas cookies and Easter bread for family and friends.
Marta is predeceased by her parents, Eduardo and Elvira (Paura) Tartaglione and her brother Jorge Tartaglione. She leaves behind three sons; Marcelo (Tammi) of Germantown, TN; Alex (Carolina) and their two daughters Talia and Alexandra of Billerica, MA and Johnny (Andrea) and their three children Chase, Lia and Eva of Grand Island, NY, family in Argentina and close friends Marian Norton and Dorothy LeBlanc.
Marta spent her senior years at Elderwood nursing home where she received wonderful care and made wonderful friends. Marta truly loved and enjoyed the wonderful planned activities where she spent time with friends.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where a funeral service will follow at 8 p.m. Prayers of committal will be held on Thursday April 7th at 11 a.m. at Elmlawn Cemetery, 3939 Delaware Avenue, Kenmore, NY. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CEMETERY. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Marta's name to the Activities Fund of Elderwood Health Care at Riverwood, c/o Marta Mango's Activities Fund, 2850 Grand Island Blvd, Grand Island, NY 14072.
