Martha (McDonough) Berds, 88, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY died on Monday October 28, 2013 at Elderwood Healthcare at Crestwood. Born in New York City, NY she was the daughter of the late James and Margaret (Powers) McDonough.

Martha came to Niagara Falls as a child with her family. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Martha had an immense knowledge of various topics and in her leisure time, she enjoyed reading.

Martha was predeceased by her husband Felix Berds and one son James Berds. She is survived by one step sister Joanne Slenzek of Michigan; two nieces Laurie (Michael) Ryan of Lewiston and Elizabeth (Ken) Grant of California; two great nephews Kenneth Grant and Alex Grant. She was also predeceased by one sister Anne Edwards and two brothers James McDonough and Edward McDonough.

There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date. If desired donations in Martha's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
