Obituary

Mary C. (Boddecker) Archbold, 86, of Niagara Falls NY died on Friday January 9, 2009 at her residence while under the care of Niagara Hospice. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Martin and Catherine (Pietryka) Boddecker.
On November 15, 1946 she married John J. Archbold at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. Following high schools Mary worked at the former Sales Book, later known as Moore Business Forms in Niagara Falls. During World War II, she was employed at E.I. DuPont Corporation, and from 1969 until 1979, sheworked as a sales clerk at K-Mart both located in Niagara Falls. Mary was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Church in Niagara Falls. She volunteered for the Niagara County Board of Elections, and in her younger years served as a den mother with the Boy Scouts. Above all, Mary devoted her life to being a homemaker.

In addition to her husband of sixty two years, Mrs. Archbold is survived by her four children; Patricia (Carl) Schlomberg of Port St. Lucie, FL; John M. Archbold of Niagara Falls, NY; Catherine Mitchell and Barbara (Keith) Swiatlowski both of Essex Junction, VT and was predeceased by one son James Archbold. She is also survived by six grandchildren Larry Thompson II, Brian Mitchell, Eric Mitchell, Patrick Mitchell, Jennifer Swiatlowski and Jamie Swiatlowski, three great- grandchildren Liam Mitchell, Larry Thompson III and Kurt Thompson and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one brother John (late Jane) Boddecker.

There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday January 12th at 9:30 a.m. at St. Vincent DePaul Parish, at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Robert Hughson officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
