Mary V. Burke, 96, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 4, 2021, the same day of the year as her husband of 66 years, Meldon 'Mel' Burke passed away. Born in Monessen, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Angelina Monaco; and step daughter of Brigida Monaco.

Mary came to Niagara Falls in 1943, where she married her beloved husband, Meldon 'Mel' K. Burke on June 27, 1946 in St. Joseph's Church. Mr. Burke predeceased her on September 4, 2012.

Mary began working as a payroll clerk at Kimberly Clark Company. She then became employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education as a head cook at South Junior until its closing.

As a devout Catholic, Mary was a longtime parishioner of Holy Family Parish and their Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a longtime member of the Fatima Shrine Rosary Society, as well as the senior groups of Mt. Carmel Church, and the John Duke Center.

Mary enjoyed playing bingo, cards and going to the Casino. She also loved arts and crafts, cooking and baking, but above all, she loved being in the presence of her family.

Mary is survived by her children, Thomas (Cathy) Burke and Diane (Jerry) Veres; three granddaughters, Dana (Devin), Dawn (Damon), and Kelly (Phil); 3 great-granddaughters, Kiana, Amira, and Amelia, 1 great-great-grandson, Christian; her siblings, Phyllis Bucci and Bernadette (Thomas) Callen, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers, Anthony (late Carol) Monaco, and John (Grace) Monaco.

Private funeral services and entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
