Mary Cutajar, 98, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2026, at OLP Nursing Care Facility in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late James and Pauline (Catania) LaMarca, and the beloved wife of the late Joseph N. Cutajar, Ret. NFFD, whom she married on September 27, 1952, at St. Joseph’s Church.

Mary graduated from Niagara Falls High School and began her career at the Carborundum Company, where she worked for ten years before joining Greater Niagara Credit Union. She later retired after twenty years of dedicated service to the community.

A lifelong member of St. Joseph’s Church, Mary lived her faith with devotion. She served as a eucharistic minister and was a longtime member of the Madonna del Soccorso Society. Mary was also a dedicated member of the Cristoforo Columbo Society and the ISDA Power City Lodge, formerly serving as their treasurer.

Mary embraced life with energy and joy. She was an avid golfer at Hyde Park Golf Course, a proud Niagara Falls Bocce League member, and a loyal fan of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees.

Above all, Mary devoted her life to her family, especially her beloved grandchildren who will miss her deeply.

Mary is survived by her two children, Lori Ann Hume (Michael Nyhan) and Samuel Cutajar (Angelina Salvatore); her grandchildren, Alyssa (Peter Maurer) Hume, Tyler Cutajar (Sara Cappellino), Joseph Cutajar, Daniella Chalfant, and Jeff Chalfant; her great-grandchildren, Ginny, Delilah, Sam, Sophia, and Savannah; one brother, Joseph (Felicia) LaMarca, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Joseph in 2022; two brothers, Anthony (Alida) LaMarca and Roy (late Nora) LaMarca; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Samuel and Irene Cutajar, and two nephews, Paul LaMarca and John LaMarca.

Mary’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 4 at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Please assemble at church. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
