Obituary

Mary (Chick) DiCesare, 99, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY died on Sunday November 28, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Brilliant, N.M. she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Domenica (Tomassi) Cicco.

On April 21, 1927 Mary married Dominick "Anthony" DiCesare at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. DiCesare predeceased her on December 12, 1981. During World War II she worked at Bell Aircraft in Niagara Falls, NY. Mary was a longtime devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Church and a former member of the I.S.D.A. (Italian Sons and Daughters of America) Power City Lodge both in Niagara Falls. Mary centered her life on her family and she especially liked having them over for spaghetti dinners on Thursdays and Sundays. She also enjoyed baking for the holidays.

Mary is survived by two daughters Margaret (Frank) Mirabelli of Lewiston, NY and Julia (late Frank) Santangelo of Niagara Falls, NY and was predeceased by one son Bernard F. (Dolores of Niagara Falls, NY) DiCesare and one daughter Gloria Laughlin. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren Bernard (Annette) DiCesare II, Denise (Thomas) Siford, Dreena (Daniel) Gibas, Doreen (James) Alati, Deborah (Nels) Magnuson, Sandra Mirabelli, Candice Duffy, Susan Jourdain, Mary Jo Laughlin, Judy (Sam) Moscotti, Russell (Lenora) Laughlin and Robert (Marie Elena) Laughlin, twenty four great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren, one brother Angelo (late Rose Ann) Cicco of Niagara Falls, NY and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by two grandsons Eugene DiCesare, Anthony Santangelo, one sister Josephine (late Anthony) Marinello and four brothers William (late Lenore) Chick, Frank (late Sophie) Cicco, Carmen (late Ernestine) Cicco and Leo (late Mary) Chick.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the M.J.COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday December 2nd at 10 a.m. in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE IN CHURCH. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
