Mary Catherine "Katie" Accardo, 94, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family while under the loving care of Niagara Hospice and her devoted caregivers.

Born in Niagara Falls, Katie was the daughter of the late Paul and Evelyn (Emmons) Giles. She graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949 and soon began working at Hooker Chemical Company, where she met the love of her life, Frank J. Accardo. They were married on November 8, 1952, at the former Sacred Heart Church in Niagara Falls. Together, they established a life rooted in love and family, working side by side for many years at their family business, Accardo Agency on Pine Avenue.

A devout Catholic, Katie devoted her life to her faith and to her family. Her greatest joy was found in her loved ones, especially her grandchildren, who were the heart of her world.

Katie was predeceased by her husband, Frank, on January 23, 2014, after 61 cherished years of marriage. She is survived by her children, John (Bridget) Accardo, Paul (Maria) Accardo, and Kathleen (Tim) Polka; her grandchildren, Frank (Melanie Pellegrino) Accardo, Nicholas (fiancée Carrie Penepent) Accardo, Steven (Lindsay Dennison)  Accardo, Alyssa (fiancée John Peden) Accardo, Renee Polka, and Natalie (Rob, NFFD) Hubbard; her great-grandson, John Rocco Accardo; cousins Francis (DeEtte) Giles and Maureen Giles; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Niagara Hospice and caregivers Tenisha, Destiny, and Darla for their compassion and dedication in caring for Katie.

In accordance with Katie's wishes, private funeral services and entombment will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Lewiston, NY.
