Mary Lomanto, 91, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 9th, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at Northgate Manor. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Anna (Moreale) Morganti.
Mary graduated from Trott Vocational, where she studied business. She owned and operated the former Julia Caesar's Pizzeria in Niagara Falls alongside her brother-in-law Robert during early 1960's. She was also a longtime waitress at the former Hourglass Restaurant in Kenmore, NY. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking and baking, especially during the holidays; and loved taking care of her grandchildren.
Mary was predeceased by her first husband Thomas Zafuto and her second husband Sebastian Lomanto. She is survived by her daughter Judith (Michael) Rielly; two grandchildren John Rielly and Michelle (Matthew) Caswell; two great-grandchildren Jack Rielly and Annabella Caswell; one sister Grace (late Robert) Ungaro; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her nine brothers and sisters.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff of Northgate Manor for their care, compassion and true love for Mary.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12th from 3 – 6 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls where funeral services will follow at 6 P.M with Rev. Duane Klizek officiating. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
