Mary Rose Montani, 93, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2019 at O.L.P Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Carmen and Sperenza (Giove) Maietta.

Mary was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls where she graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1943. She married her beloved husband, Nino Montani on September 13, 1947 at St. Joseph Church. They spent 65 memorable years together until his passing on November 17, 2012.

Mary was a devout Catholic and founding parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Niagara Falls. She worked for a brief period during World War II at the former Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

Mary enjoyed bowling, tending to her garden, as well as cooking. She also enjoyed reading, completing crossword puzzles, going to the Casino and playing cards with her family. Above all, Mary's life was focused on her family who she especially loved spending time with.

Mrs. Montani is survived by two children, Marie Shank of Huntington Beach, CA, Paul Montani of Niagara Falls, NY, and was predeceased by one daughter Gloria (Louis of Wheatfield, NY) Salciccioli. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Louis (Dana) Salciccioli, Christopher Salciccioli, Anthony Salciccioli, Rachelle LeBrilla and Vanessa Hill; five great-grandchildren, Justin, Evan, Collin, Ryan, Nino and Michael; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great great-nieces, great great-nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Frank (late Mary) Maietta, Anthony (late Anne) Maietta, Samuel (late Lucy) Maietta, Teresa (late Edward) Ventry, Joseph (late Stella) Maietta, and her brother-in-law Augustino (late Anne) Montani.

The family would like to thank Joan Gasiorek for being such a good friend and taking great care of Mary over the past few years.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 17 ^th from 3- 7 P.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, where funeral services will begin on Saturday, May 18 ^th at 9:15 A.M. followed by Mary's Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. in Holy Family Parish at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 27th Street and Independence Avenue Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
