Mary Grace (Chiarenza) Previte, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday April 24, 2011 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Grotte, Sicily, Italy, she was the daughter of the late Matteo and Domenica "Mamie" Chiarenza.

Grace came to Niagara Falls, NY as a child with her family. She attended local schools including Niagara Falls High School. As a child and young teen, Grace worked various jobs to help provide and take care of her immigrant family. During the early 1940's Grace worked at the former Kimberly Clark Corporation. On November 14, 1945 she married Carmen Previte in Niagara Falls, NY. Mr. Previte predeceased her on April 5, 2005. Grace was an avid reader and enjoyed politics, traveling and cooking. She especially enjoyed the music of her husband, Carmen Previte, and was extremely proud of all the celebrities she had met throughout the years.

Grace is survived by her five children, Carol Scott of Niagara Falls, NY; Robert (Mary Jane) Previte of Bluffton, SC; Esther (Douglas) Thurau, Sr. of Hazel Park, MI; Jeanne (David) Green of Grand Island, NY and Richard (Adele) Previte of Niagara Falls, NY; nine grandchildren, Christopher Previte, Jonathan Previte, Joshua Previte, Douglas (Candice) Thurau, Jr., Christine Hill, Melinda (John) Lakatos, Ashley Green, David Green and Joseph Green, six great-grandchildren, one brother Charles Chiarenza of Hollywood, CA; one sister Joanie (Joe) Chiarenza Stalteri of Phoenix, AZ; a niece Jennifer Stalteri, as well as several other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 9 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday April 29th at 9:00 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. in First Assembly of God Church, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd. Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. James Armpriester, Jr. officiating. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
