Mary Ellen Priest, 90, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2021, at her residence. Born in Columbus, OH, she was the daughter of Lon J. and Edith J. (Leferenz) Oliver; and the beloved wife of the late John Clarence Priest, who she married on February 24, 1952 in Chillicothe, OH.  Mr. Priest passed away on July 28, 2011.

Mary was raised in Ohio where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Ohio Wesleyan University. She was employed as an elementary school teacher for many years at various schools in Ohio prior to her retirement.

Mary and her husband moved to Lewiston to be closer to family. She was an avid gardener and birder who truly loved the outdoors, and also enjoyed playing tennis.

Mrs. Priest is survived by her two children, John O. (Lynne) Priest and Joseph L. (Pamela) Priest, two grandchildren, John and Angelica Priest; her sister, Julia (late Philip) Pierson; one niece, one nephew and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
