Mary S. (Martinez) Robies, 80, of the Town of Niagara, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Holman, New Mexico she was the daughter of the late Jose Alejandro and Susie (Lucero) Martinez.

On April 4, 1959 Mary married James M. P. Robies and was predeceased by him in 1992. In the late 1970's, she worked as a nurse's aide at Stella Niagara. Mary was a magnificent cook as well as a painter and crafter, who also loved tending to her garden. She loved traveling to visit her brothers and sisters out west and enjoyed going on cruises. She was a longtime member of St. Leo's and Prince of Peace parishes where she sang in both of their choirs and was active within the church community. Most of all, Mary centered her life around her family and she especially enjoyed hosting family gatherings.

Mary is survived by four children Anna M. Garfalo, Frances S. (Richard) D'Angelo, Mary S. (Mark) Genco and James Robies; six grandchildren Ricardo J. (Bernadette) Garfalo, III, Parrish C. Spencer, Jr., Stefano J. Calandrelli, Nathan M. D'Angelo, Madeline S. Genco and Max C. Genco; one great grandson NaShawn A. Spencer; two brothers Alejandro F. (Dolores Avila) Martinez and Carlos Martinez; three sisters Barbara Martinez, Orlinda (late Dale) Henry and Emma Martinez and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters Rosa Martinez and infant Cristina Martinez.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 – 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Monday, November 7th at 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
