Mary L. Gandolfi, 92, of Niagara Falls, NY entered into eternal rest on March 22, 2016 after a brief illness. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Michael and Frances (Stupino) Sarro.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She attended local schools and graduated from the former Trott Vocational High School. Before her marriage she worked at the former International Paper Mill and Bell Aircraft in Niagara Falls. On January 28, 1956, she married Benedict J. Gandolfi at St. Joseph's Church. Mr. Gandolfi predeceased her on April 14, 2012. Mary was a longtime member of St. Joseph's Church and the former Holy Trinity Church, where she was also a very active member of the Holy Trinity School Mother's Club. Mary enjoyed shopping, music, watching old movies, and was very fond of animals. Mary centered her life around her family, and always went out of her way to help others. She loved spending time with her family especially during the holidays.
Mary is survived by her three children, Linda Lester, Michael J. Gandolfi, Vincent J. "Jimmy" Gandolfi, and was predeceased by four sons, Vincent, Benedict, John and an infant son. She is also survived by three granddaughters, Anita L. (Jonathan) Joyce, DDS, Kaitlynn N. Lester and Emma C. Gandolfi and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by siblings, Joseph (Rita) Sarro, Raffaella Sarro, Lucy (late Peter) Congi, (late William) Domorat, Philip (late Lillian) Sarro and US Army Private, Vincent Sarro. She was the daughter-in-law of the late Giovanni "John" and Zoraida (Santini) Gandolfi, as well as the sister-in-law of Josephine (late Anthony) Duganier, Savina (Louis) Bleggi, late Caroline Gandolfi, late Eugene "Muss" (late Marjorie) Gandolfi and late Christine (Leonard) Carmella.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 1st from 1-4 and 7-9 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in St. Joseph Cemetery.
