Mary A. (Rangatore) Tantillo, 92, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Monday, November 7, 2016 at N.F. Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine (Sanfillipo) Rangatore.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. During World War II, Mary worked as a "Rosey Riveter" at Bell Aircraft in Wheatfield, NY. She later worked as a nurse's aide at N.F. Memorial Medical Center and at Moore Business Forms. On September 6, 1946, she married her childhood sweetheart Russell Tantillo at St. Mary of the Cataract Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Tantillo predeceased her on April 27, 1973. Mary enjoyed knitting and crocheting and loved sewing her grandchildren's Halloween costumes. She also liked watching horror movies but her greatest joy was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by two children Lucille Tantillo and her husband Steven S. Baum and Frank Tantillo; her chosen daughter Elizabeth (late George) Johns; three grandchildren Frank (Charity) Tantillo, Dana (Stuart) Schnettler and Nicole (Bob) Schalk; four great grandchildren Samantha Tantillo, Russell
Tantillo, Dominic Schalk and Gianna Schalk and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by one brother Joseph (late Helen) Rangatore.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. at the
M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Friday, November 11that 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
