Mary Rose (Piro) Thomas, 79 of Lewiston, NY, passed away on November 12, 2017 at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital.  Born December 2, 1937 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late, Rocco and Angeline (Marazzo) Piro.

Mary Rose was a lifelong resident.  She attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School.  On May 7, 1957, she married Lewis D. Thomas at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls.  Mr. Thomas predeceased her in 1996.  For over 30 years, Mary Rose worked at the Niagara Falls Country Club until her retirement at the age of seventy.  She was a long time active volunteer and member of the St. Francis Guild of Mt. St. Mary's Hospital.  Mary Rose was also a member of the Women's Cristoforo Columbo Society, ISDA Cataract Lodge #240, Niagara Falls Bocce League and Madonna Del Soccorso Society of  St. Joseph's Church.  In her leisure time, Mary Rose enjoyed playing bingo, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family and friends.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her six children, Lisa (Dave) Szalach, Mark Thomas, Robert (Candace) Allen-Thomas, Gary (Barb) Thomas, James Thomas and Lou Thomas, twelve grandchildren, Jennifer Szalach, Michael Szalach, Mark Thomas, Jr., Angel Thomas, Julia Thomas, Gary Matthew Thomas, Preston Thomas, Bradley Thomas, Christine Thomas, Ashley Thomas, Jimmy Thomas, Jr. and Tamorah Thomas, two great-grandchildren, Shakya and Kymel Thomas, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was also predeceased by one brother, Carmen (late Eleanor) Piro.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI AND SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL 2730 Military Road Niagara Falls, NY.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday November 17 ^th at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish at St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Ave. Niagara Falls, NY.  EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.  If desired, memorial offerings may be made to the St. Francis Guild of Mt.
