Mary A. 'Bonnie' (Hamel) Witkowski, 69, of Niagara Falls, NY died on Wednesday September 14, 2011 at her residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY she was the daughter of the late Alfred Joseph and Mary (Pinkowski) Hamel.
Bonnie, as she was known to everyone, was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY. She attended local schools, graduated from Niagara Falls High School and later earned a Bachelor's Degree at Niagara University. Bonnie was employed as an accountant at various hospitals in the Niagara Falls area until her retirement in 2010. In her leisure time she enjoyed crocheting and was an excellent baker.
Bonnie is survived by two brothers and one sister Daniel J. (Loralee) Hamel of Amherst, NY; Patricia (Robert) Mellor of Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada and Michael (Marianne) Hamel of Williamsville, NY; her nieces and nephews Michele Szezniak, Tina Mellor, Lisa Mellor, Julie (Colin) Clack, Mark Hamel, Peter Hamel and was predeceased by her nephew Paul Mellor. She is also survived by several great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5 – 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday September 17th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
