Obituary

Maryann (Marchetti) Bosso, 93 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Sunday November 8, 2009 in Elderwood at Riverwood Health Care Facility in Grand Island, NY. Born in Punxsutawney, PA she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Vincenza (Giarretano) Marchetti.

Maryann attended schools in Pennsylvania until moving to Niagara Falls in 1925 with her family. She then attended local Niagara Falls schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On October 30, 1937, she married Carmen 'Tom' Bosso in Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Niagara Falls, and celebrated seventy one years or marriage in 2008. Mr. Bosso predeceased his wife on October 21, 2009.

Maryann worked at the former Kimberly Clark Corp., Gilman Fan Fold, Jenss and Sample Shops all of Niagara Falls, NY. She and her husband Tom also owned and operated the former Chez LaMode Dress Shop in Niagara Falls from 1945 until 1949; later changing it to the Paulette Shop. Maryann was instrumental in forming the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council #247 in Niagara Falls where she also served as president. She was also a talented artist, particularly with ceramics, as well as a great cook and baker.

Mrs. Bosso was predeceased by her daughter Paulette LoVerde. She is survived by her three grandchildren, Patricia Smith, Teri Stanford and Marybeth LoVerde, five great- grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by four brothers, Joseph Markette, Louis Markette, Anthony Markette, James Markette, and two sisters, Louise Malivendi and Jean Mardon Arico.

Mrs. Bosso requested that her body be donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Buffalo. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Saturday November 14th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Memorial offerings can be made to St. Vincent De Paul Parish, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Arrangements by M.J.
