Matthew A. "Butch" Mazza Jr. of Niagara Falls, NY,  age 73, passed away March 26, 2020 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home, Lewiston, NY.  Matthew was born February 11, 1947 in Lansing, MI . The son of the late Matthew A. and Joan (Ferro) Mazza Sr.

Matthew graduated from Bishop Duffy High School, and attended Michigan State University.  He was very involved in athletics, quarterbacking for Bishop Duffy and the MSU Spartans.  He also was a semi-pro pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates Farm Team .

He was the former owner/ operator of Armoire Shop in Lewiston and Matteo's in Niagara Falls, NY in the 1980's and 1990's and a former waiter at The Eagle House in Williamsville, NY retiring in 2013 . Matthew was an avid sports fan , following all sports , and enjoyed successfully answering most categories on Jeopardy, he was  an old movie buff, and delighted in completing crossword puzzles.

Matthew is survived by his daughter Megan Mazza – Lenhart of Arizona, his two sisters, Carol (Terry) Henschel and Jessica (Patrick) Freeman as well as nieces and nephews.  There will be no prior visitation. Matthew's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 28 at 10:00 A.M. in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Price of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. Arrangements by the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL.
