Matthew A. Laughlan, 41, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on June 29, 2026 at Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the loving son of David A. and Kathryn “Katy” L. (Gillis) Laughlan.

Matt was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School and later attended Niagara County Community College. For six years, he worked as a Phone Technician at Verizon in Niagara Falls—a job he truly loved and took great pride in. Most recently, he was employed at Applebee’s and was excited to begin a new position at Vitamin World.

He enjoyed attending services at Riverside Presbyterian Church. Matt loved hockey, a sport he played throughout his childhood, and he was a devoted fan of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bills. He also enjoyed listening to music and spending time outdoors with his family during get‑togethers. Above all, Matt cherished time spent with his family—especially his son, nieces, and nephews. He was loving, kind, good‑hearted, and would do anything for anyone.

In addition to his parents, Matt is survived by his son, Austin R. King; his siblings, David Laughlan, Christina Laughlan (fiancé Isiah), and Kyle (Samantha) Laughlan; his beloved nieces and nephews, Alayah, Isiah, Arianna, Lena, and Lily; his aunts and uncles, Patricia (late Kevin) Mooradian and Mike Gillis; as well as many cousins. He was predeceased by his uncle, Brian Laughlan.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 5, from 2 – 7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
