Obituary

Matthew A. Loscalzo, 58, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of Patricia (Palumbo) DiNieri and the late Matthew Loscalzo, and the stepson of Sherry (Richey) Loscalzo.

Raised in Lewiston, Matt was a proud graduate of Lewiston Porter High School. For the last 13 years, he was happily employed by Northern Customs Services, Inc. in Niagara Falls as a Release Supervisor. He also previously worked at the Village Diner in Youngstown, NY, as well as Gagster's Restaurant in Niagara Falls.  Matt was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for others. He also had a passion for cars. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family and coworkers.

In addition to his mother, Patricia, and his stepmom, Sherry, Matthew is survived by his sisters, Tricia (Rolf) Wadstein, Gina (Jason) Pietrowski, Lori (Jonathan Houghton) Loscalzo, and was sadly predeceased by his brother James 'Jimmy' DiNieri. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Elyn Wadstein, Jimmy Wadstein, Lilyana Loscalzo, Vivian Houghton and Samanatha Houghton; two aunts, Auntie Lynn (Gil) Frazier and Karen (late Allen) Genco; several cousins and countless friends and dear coworkers. He was also predeceased by several other loving aunts and uncles.

A Celebration of Matthew's Life will be held on Saturday, March 1 from 3 - 6:00 PM at Sammy's Pizzeria, 1400 Hyde Park Blvd, Niagara Falls, NY 14305. Private committal prayer services and entombment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery for Matthew's family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice at niagarahospice.org.
