IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Maureen A.
Nardone
January 26, 2024
Maureen Anne Nardone, 82, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on January 26, 2024 at Brothers of Mercy in Clarence, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Harry M. and Grace V. (Mauer) Crowe.
Maureen was an alumnus of St. Mary's High School. On July 27, 1962, she married William F. Nardone, MD, at St. John de LaSalle Church. Dr. Nardone sadly predeceased her on October 2, 1975. Maureen was a member of the St. Francis Guild at Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, serving as chairperson of the Holiday Bazaar and Pink Elephant Luncheon. She was also a member of the YWCA Board of Directors.
Maureen has a presence and a warmth that made everyone she met feel cared for. When she walked into a room, she breathed life into it. Maureen was fiercely intelligent, but never took herself too seriously. Her charisma and charm were infectious. She had a razor wit and suffered no fools. No topic or observation was off limits – every conversation was vividly colorful. When Maureen was dolling out light-hearted zingers and barbs, you actually hoped she had one for you. And when she told you a story, you hung on every word.
Maureen was a larger-than-life personality. Whether she was your mother, your grandma, or your friend, or the woman in front of you at the Tops' checkout, she left an impression. Known affectionately to many as "Nani Moe," she was a "Mom to All" her children and grandchildren's friends. Maureen was also known as a quintessential hostess and fabulous cook – there was always a seat at the table for any unexpected guest. A bit of her kindness, vivacity, nerve, and laughter lives on in her daughter and grandsons – and though it's just a bit, the world is better for it.
Maureen is survived by her loving daughter, Elizabeth G. (Dr. Norman) Fiorica and her beloved grandsons, Thomas, Michael, Peter and William Fiorica. In addition to her husband, she was sadly predeceased by her son William J. (Patricia) Nardone.
