May Boyle, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on May 30, 2021 at Elderwood of Grand Island. Born in Warrington, Lancashire, England, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Douglas) Muckley.
May attended Warrington Arts School for seamstressing for 6 1/2 years. She married Frank Boyle on July 25, 1953 in Warrington, England. Mr. Boyle predeceased her on March 30, 2021. May and Frank owned a General Store in Warrington. The Boyle's moved to Niagara Falls, NY with their family in 1969. May was employed in Cafeteria Service with Hooker Chemical in Niagara Falls, Dunlop Tire in Tonawanda, NY, as well as with Marriott Food Services in Buffalo, NY.
May was a drummer with the MacKenzie Highlanders, member of the British American Club and a singer in Can American English Shows, and many English Pubs, including the McKenzie Pub in Niagara Falls. In addition, she was a skilled seamstress, making children's clothing, knitting caps for newborn infants at Memorial Medical Center and Mt. St. Mary's Hospital, wedding gowns and bridesmaid dresses for her daughter and granddaughters' weddings, as well as 33 coats for the MacKenzie Highlanders Bagpipers and Drummers. She enjoyed spending winters with her husband in Florida.
Mrs. Boyle is survived by her daughter, Susan (Donald) Williams; granddaughter, Cassandra (Robert) Weir; great grandchildren Andy, Madalyn, Harper and Axyl; her siblings, Ronald (Jean) Muckley, and Ethel (late Edward) Shiah as well as nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Michael (late Patti) Boyle, and her siblings, Harry (late Florence) Muckley, Fred (late Jessie) Muckley, Hilda (late Allen) Claire, Mary (late Joseph) Illingworth, Eva Holmes, as well as her late infant twin brother.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 10 AM to 12 Noon at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls where May's services will be held at 12 Noon. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Western New York Chapter, 6215 Sheridan Drive #100, Buffalo, NY 14221.
