Michael A. Cumbo, 82, passed away on January 5, 2021 at Mount View Assisted Living Facility in Lockport, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Frank and Rose (Rinallo) Cumbo.
Michael served stateside in the Air National Guard between 1961 and 1962. In November of 1969, he married Carol A. (DiNoto) Cumbo, who predeceased him on July 8, 1996. He was employed for over 25 years with National Fuel Gas Company in Niagara Falls, NY. Michael was also a professional jazz musician, performing both nationally and abroad, and was well-known locally for playing the double bass. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and will be remembered above all as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Michael is survived by his children, Nicholas (Jane) Cumbo, Samuel M. Cumbo, and Angelique (Duane) Hosang; his grandchildren, Alyssa Cumbo, Aidan Hosang, Alanna Hosang, Zachary Hosang, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his wife of 27 years, he was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph (Gina) Cumbo, Samuel Cumbo, and Antoinette (late Mario) DeMita.
Private services with entombment in St. Joseph's Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
